Swashraya Nilayam

Swashraya Nilayam, a registered society established in 1997 at Kattoor near Irinjalakuda functions as a day care centre for differently abled boys imparting basic education, skill development and yoga under the guidance of trained and experienced teachers. The institute founded by Shri. M.K. Gopan with four boys initially operated from his residence and later moved to rented premises. Subsequently SwashrayaNilayam under the stewardship of Shri.Gopan relocated to the present fully owned building at Ponjanam in Kattoor Panchayath. Presently, the institute has eighteen students and two teachers. Free mid-day meal is provided regularly to the students, teachers and staff.

A noteworthy feature of the institute is that it has so far not availed any grant, either in cash or kind from the government and is being managed entirely by public patronage. Further, Swashraya Nilayam lends its helping hand by providing uniforms, books and fees to the deserving students from economically marginalized sections of society.

Taking stock of Swashraya Nilyam’s journey of last two decades, Shri. Gopan and his team realized that in order to take their vision forward, they need to tackle human as well as financial resources. Finally, it became imperative for them to merge with an organization of repute which has pan India presence. The search eventually led them to Sevabharathi Irinjalakuda. At a colorful function organized at Swashraya Nilayam premises on Sunday 26th March 2017, Shri. M.K. Gopan handed over the title deeds of the property and government’s permission to merge with Sevabharathi Irinjalakuda to Shri. P.K. Unnikrishnan, President of Sevabharathi. Shri. C.K. Chandran, Joint State Seva Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Shri.U.N. Haridas, Kerala State Secretary of Sevabharathi were among the distinguished guests who graced the occasion.

കാട്ടൂര്‍ സ്വാശ്രയ നിലയം സേവാഭാരതി ഏറ്റെടുത്തു

ഇരിങ്ങാലക്കുട : ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാര്‍ക്കായി കാട്ടൂര്‍ പൊഞ്ഞനത്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞ 20 വര്‍ഷമായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന കാട്ടൂര്‍ സ്വാശ്രയ നിലയം ഇരിങ്ങാലക്കുട സേവാഭാരതി ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. 1997ല്‍ എം.കെ.ഗോപന്‍ നാലുകുട്ടികളുമായി തന്റെ വീടിന്റെ ഒറ്റമുറിയില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ച സ്വാശ്രയ നിലയം വാടക കെട്ടിടത്തിലേക്കും പിന്നീട് സ്വന്തമായി സഥലം വാങ്ങി കെട്ടിടം നിര്‍മ്മിച്ച് അതിലേക്ക് പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം മാറ്റി. ഒരു ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ 32 കുട്ടികള്‍ വരെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സ്ഥാപനം സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഗ്രാന്റോ, മറ്റു സഹായങ്ങളോ ഇല്ലാതെയായിരുന്നു ഇക്കാലമത്രയും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു വന്നിരുന്നത്. വിവിധമേഖലകളില്‍ തൊഴില്‍ പരിശീലനങ്ങളും മറ്റു സേവനങ്ങളും സഹായങ്ങളും ഈ കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍ നിന്നും നല്‍കിവരുന്നുണ്ട്. സ്വാശ്രയനിലയത്തിന്റെ രേഖ എം.കെ.ഗോപന്‍ സേവാഭാരതി പ്രസിഡണ്ട് പി.കെ.ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണന് കൈമാറി. ആര്‍ എസ് എസ് സംസ്ഥാന സഹ സേവപ്രമുഖ് സി.കെ.ചന്ദ്രന്‍ സേവാസന്ദേശം നല്‍കി. സമൂഹം സേവാഭാരതിയുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളെ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ലക്ഷണമാണ് നല്ലനിലയില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥാപനങ്ങള്‍ സേവാഭാരതിയെ ഏല്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ വ്യക്തമാകുന്നതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തില്‍ സേവനം എത്തേണ്ട എല്ലാ വിഭാഗം ജനങ്ങളിലേക്കും സേവനം എത്തുന്ന വിധത്തില്‍ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളും മറ്റു സംവിധാനങ്ങളും സേവാഭാരതിക്കുണ്ടെന്ന് സി.കെ.ചന്ദ്രന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. പി.കെ.ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണന്‍ ചടങ്ങില്‍ അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. സേവാഭാരതി സെക്രട്ടറി പി. ഹരിദാസ് ആമുഖഭാഷണം നടത്തി. സേവാഭാരതി സംസ്ഥാന സംഘടന സെക്രട്ടറി യു.എന്‍ ഹരിദാസ് കാട്ടൂര്‍ ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തംഗം ധീരജ് സ്വാശ്രയനിലയം സെക്രട്ടറി താരാനാഥന്‍ മാസ്റ്റര്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ ആശംസകളര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. ചടങ്ങില്‍ തൊഴിലുപകരണ വിതരണം നടത്തി. സ്ഥാപനത്തില്‍ ആമ്പുലന്‍സിന്റെ സേവനം ഇനിമുതല്‍ ലഭ്യമാകും. മണക്കാട് പരമേശ്വരന്‍ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാട് സ്വാശ്രയ നിലയത്തിലേക്ക് അരി സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. പി.കെ.ശിവരാമന്‍ സ്വാഗതവും കെ.എം. രാജീവ് നന്ദിയും പറഞ്ഞു.
