Sevabharathi Irinjalakuda, an affiliate of Rashtriya Sevabharathi, a non-governmental organisation, synonymous with charity & community development work and registered under Charitable Societies Act 1995 was formally launched in the year 2007. Working for the upliftment of economically, educationally and socially deprived sections of the society, we are being guided by the motto – manava seva is madhava seva. The volunteers of sevabharathi have drawn inspiration from the work and teachings of eminent men like Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr.K.B. Hedgewar and Guruji Sri.M.S. Golwalkar. Over the years, sevabharati has spread its tentacles across the length and breadth of the nation. The relief work carried out by sevabharathi in the last three decades, when different parts of the country were ravaged by natural calamities like flood, drought, earthquake & tsunami, etc. had won wide acclaim .

The spectrum of activities include ambulance service, daily annadanam at taluk hospital, management of old age home, monthly financial relief, arranging free medical camps , blood & organ donation and seasonal annadanam to Sree Ayyappa and Naalambalam devotees, providing land for the landless & home for the homeless. We are indeed grateful to all the good samaritans for their unstinted patronage and solicit the same for our future endeavors.

No single challenge that the Hindu community faces today should be left unaddressed is the motivating spirit that propels and guides the teeming projects of this philanthropic movement. And from 2007 onwards Sevabharathi Irinjalakuda, has plunged into the arena of service to the aged, helpless and sick at the fag end of their lives.

As you know, India is a country renowned for its saga of service and sacrifice, the two sides of a coin. In a land glorified by the seamless generosity of Maharishi Datheejee and Emperor Shibu, the supreme models of compassion and magnanimity, Rashtriya Sevabharathi blazed its trail in the service to humanity ever since its inception in 1978. With the avowed aim of realizing a state of ‘Paramavaibhava’, Seva Bharathi strives to reach out to the weak and marginalized sections of the society in every nook and corner of the country. With utter dedication and commitment it leaves no stone unturned in its venture to wipe out tears from every one. Consequently multifarious activities have been chalked out at the national, state, district and taluk levels which will be implemented by its numerous units operating independently. Currently one lakh and fifty thousand projects are ongoing at the national level.

In Kerala, nearly sixty eight Bala / Balika sadans are established to render roof to the homeless and destitute orphans. Consistent care is taken to maintain proper infrastructure for health and hygiene with emphasis to mould the young minds with right attitudes and better perspectives. ‘Annadanam is carried out in twenty eight hospitals and fifty four ambulance services provide succor to the poor and needy. It was in 2007 that Sevabharathi took roots at Irinjalakuda. It initiated its services with daily ‘Annadanam’ at the Taluk Government hospital and later geared up its activities, with annadanam to Sree Ayyappa and Naalambalam devotees, distribution of medicines, blood donation, eye care camps, ambulance services, besides extending financial relief to the needy.
